Keith and Karen visited us May 23-June 2, 2009. We had a nice visit and did lots of fun things together. It was fun to see Miles form a relationship with his grandparents over the week, and he has been asking for them by name ever since they left! Although we refer to them as "Grandpa and Nana," Miles has named them "O-Pa and "Nanny." He sure loves spending time with them (and I think the feeling is mutual:).
Grandpa and Nana brought Miles two chairs to complete his kid table.
He loves his table and chairs!

One of Miles favorite things to do right now is to ride his tricycle and play out in front of our building (when we can't make it to the park). He enjoyed having extra company this week.
Good hustle Miles!
Who does this?

Thanks for the helmet . . .
he needs it!

This video shows Miles in action. He came up on this "cheese" bit on his own.
Such a funny guy!
We're really feeling the onslaught of becoming two at our house. Here is a prime example of what happens when we come inside when Miles wants to stay outside.
(Thankfully, he isn't able to open the front door . . . yet.)
Distractions (like wearing Dad's sandals) can help with the tantrums.

Grandpa and Miles take care of their pearly whites
and get ready for bed after a fun day!
We were able to take a day and go to the Brookfield Zoo. Grandpa and Nana generously paid for our family zoo pass as Brian's Father's Day gift, so we look forward to going back many times this year. Miles loved it!
Here he is checking out the goats in the children's zoo.
And the sheep.
The highlight for this trip, however, was the "Dinosaurs Alive!" exhibit. Miles has recently taken a liking to dinosaurs, so this was very exciting for him (although he seemed a little scared part of the time . . . but so were the rest of us. These dinos seemed real!!)
So many dinosaurs to see!

This is precisely how people get eaten by T-Rex. Will we never learn?
TURN AROUND NANA AND MILES!
Miles thinks he is as tall as this dinosaur. Please don't burst his bubble.
We take our dinosaurs very seriously.
What a fun trip to the zoo!
Time to refuel . . .
We're telling you - this kid LOVES to eat!

"O-Pa and Miles"
Miles and "Nanny"
On Sunday evening we took a drive into Chicago to explore Grant Park.
We had fun even though we were bundled up in June!
Buckingham Fountain!

"GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!"

Okay, okay. He's really saying "MOON!"
This is our best attempt at a family photo downtown.

A rare restful moment for Miles . . . complete with a snack, of course.
This photo should go in a Chicago tour guide, don't you think? If only Chicago was known for its PB&J . . .

Keith and the famous Millenium Park "Bean"
Thanks for a terrific trip "O-Pa" and "Nanny!"Come back soon!

You little guy is growing up SO FAST! I'm glad you are enjoying every moment. :-)
