Cowboys or Farmers?
It has become a tradition to spend time each summer on the Bounds Family Farm in Adair, OK with Brian's Uncle, Aunt, and Cousins. We look forward to this time each year and are so grateful for the opportunity to spend such quality time with them. This part of the family just keeps growing, with cousins Candis and Dennis expecting their second child. What a blessing it is for Miles to have all these cousins!

Here we are on the farm enjoying some pool time under the shade of a terrific old tree. I had to include this photo because it is rare when Miles actually resembles me!
Ladder golf and post-swimming swinging with Daddy. The moon was so bright in Oklahoma. :)
There's never a dull moment on the farm.
It's a little boy's paradise (which is, I think, why Uncle Glen is enjoying his retirement so much!) Really, I think GG is just testing the boys to see if they are made to be cowboys or farmers. You be the judge.
Here Griffin and Miles enjoy driving the tractor with GG.
Now it's time for a horse ride with Daddy and Aunt Jenni!

Am I a lucky lady or what? Just look at these handsome guys!
KK and Griffin watch the horses
Miles wanted to ride all day. He cried when we took him down.

This is a picture of me riding Peanut the horse. You'll notice that the reigns are in tact and that Peanut is calm and collected at this point (as am I). Unfortunately, the ride back to the barn wasn't as smooth since the reigns completely broke off at the water trough, which sent Peanut galloping back to the barn. Conceivably this could have been a fun ride for me, except that I didn't have any brakes! Thankfully, Peanut parked himself at the barn and let me dismount safely. Needless to say, my heart was racing. They called me a Cowgirl the rest of the week. I'm not so sure that the Cowgirl's life is for me!
When Miles wasn't swimming, horseback riding, or driving the tractor, he was driving his four-wheeler!
Inside, cousin Amity (the lone girl in the group) laughs at one of Miles' jokes.
Cousin Griffin hams it up for the camera
At the end of the day, story time with KK
Uncle Glen put the guys to work cleaning the gutters on the house. Dennis and Brian enjoyed the work. It's a guy thing.

The neighbors let us use their pool one afternoon, which was a blast in the Oklahoma sun and heat!

Baby Wyatt stayed cool in the shade
Amity enjoyed her first dip in a pool! Here she is after going under water for the first time. She did great!
More tractor driving . . .
More eating . . .
Lots of smiling . . .
GG and Miles are real pals

A mini-tractor pull!

One of the best things about the country is that you're free to break the rules a little and let your kids ride (or drive:) in the front seat . . .

It's clear that Miles enjoys being a rule-breaker!
(and GG doesn't seem to mind it either)

"BUS!"

One for Amity . . .
. . . and one for Miles.
The cousins taught us a new game.
It goes: "Raise your hand if your name is Miles!"
This place is every two-year-old boy's dream.
THANKS to the Bounds family for such a special week on the farm!
We can hardly wait for next year!
Now it's time to entertain for the long drive home . . .
You've got to give him credit for creativity!
